deluThe original building dates from the late 19 th century, and has the classic features of industrial architecture: large spans supported by pillars, very narrow structural elements, in cast iron, mainly glazed facades, spacious and well lit interiors.
in certain details the building also reveals concerns that were not merly utilitarian: the composition of its innovations in its urban presence. The space and ambition of the original building are restored and maximised in this second stage of the building's life. They are timeless values that are given a contemporarily and cosmopolitan interpretation: not just in the restoration, but also in the extension. The buildings facades are mantained, refined and adapted to the new residential use in its interior.
The body of the extension is independent, gently resting above the older building. It is a volume with a rarefied lines, sheathed in metal veil that can be open and closed at any time, depending on the light, the views or intimacy required within departments
